SaveMyPlate is a surplus-food marketplace. This policy explains what we collect when you use the customer and store apps, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We only collect what we need to run the service.
1. Information we collect
- Account details — your mobile number (used to sign in with a one-time code), and your name. Stores also provide a store name, category, location and contact number.
- Location — your device location (with permission) so we can show Surprise Bags nearest to you. You can instead pick an area manually.
- Orders — the bags you reserve, the pickup code, the pickup window, and amounts paid.
- Usage — favourites, notifications and basic activity needed to run the app.
2. How we use it
- To show nearby Surprise Bags and let you reserve, pay and pick them up.
- To verify pickups via your one-time SMS code and your 4-digit pickup code.
- To send essential messages — reservation confirmations and pickup reminders.
- To calculate your impact (bags rescued, money saved, CO₂ prevented).
3. Sharing
When you reserve a bag, the store sees the details needed to hand it over (your name, the order and code). We use trusted providers for SMS one-time codes and payments. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Your choices
- Turn location permission on or off at any time in your device settings.
- Manage notification preferences in the app.
- Request account deletion via support — accounts without order history can be removed.
